Executive solutions are urgently recruiting for an MEP Design Manager for their highly recognised, Real Estate Development company, based in Dubai. As a successful MEP Design Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Assist in preparing Requests For Proposals including technical design scopes for MEP consultants and identify MEP design elements and deliverables to be undertaken for projects
* Prepare information packages for projects to issue to consultants and other project participants; evaluate consultant proposals
* Assist design department to manage design schedules, monitor MEP design progress including consultant deliverables and coordinate with project management consultants.
* Ensure incorporation of best practices in building design relevant to MEP, including achieving LEED Gold rating
* Review all MEP consultant submissions including technical drawings and specifications for accuracy, efficiency, value, quality, cost, and relevancy to Dubai market
* Participate in value-engineering meetings; work with QS and Development Project Manager to recommend quality improvements and cost savings to MEP designs
* Evaluate MEP Designs for improvement on marketability / leaseability to world-class tenants
* Liaise with project consultants to assist in securing approvals from statutory authorities
* Assist in developing Design Guidelines and Drafting Standards
Skills/Experience required for this role:
* Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or building systems engineering
* At least 10 years work experience in related field with at least 4 years in a real estate development environment.
* Prior experience on commercial real estate projects required, including a mix of residential, commercial office ,and retail projects
* At least 2-3 years experience in Manager role; demonstrated experience in adding value to projects through value-engineering and design quality control
* Local UAE experience is required; knowledge of trends and best-practices in Dubai environment required
* Prior experience as MEP consultant to real estate developer desired
* Prior experience on LEED / Green Building projects required
* Experience in large scale and high profile projects
