Job Purpose:

·Assure that all permits and licenses necessary for the development are obtained from all relevant authorities in a timely and efficient manner

Key Responsibilities:

·Process all required project development and construction permits through external government agencies, and follow up on the reviews and comments of approving agencies

·Coordinate with the Projects Delivery Division to assure that all ongoing project development and construction projects are conducted in line with the licenses and permits obtained

·Closely monitor all government laws and regulations affecting the development of the city and highlight any changes or amendments that might affect it

·Provide guidance to the Project Delivery Division on all issues related permits

·Work closely with the Government entities to follow up on all necessary permits required for the development

·Mediate and/or advocate for the city’s interests and build excellent relations with the management of government organizations as well as agencies and entities issuing permits

·Develop detailed report highlighting all permitting related issues to be submitted to the Projects Controls & Planning Department Manager

·Assure that all required permits are obtained in a timely manner to prevent any delays in the project delivery schedule

Job Requirements:

·Education

–A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in public policy, politics, government, public administration, law or architecture

·Experience:

–15+ years of experience, preferably within a management context

–Experience in government relations or public policy is preferred

–Preferably someone with previous experience in special economic zones, and/or public policy

·Skills:

–Excellent communication, people and relationship building capacity

–Excellent problem solving and decision skills

–Excellent planning and organization skills

–Excellent presentation skills

–Ability to conduct and lead effective meetings

–Commercially aware and able to act in the organization’s best interests

–Able to work extended hours to fulfill the role

–Professional manner; able to take firm and timely decisions

–Excellent oral and written English and Arabic
