Executive Solutions is keen to appoint a Department Manager, Infrastructure for one of the most exciting, unique, sustainable, mega projects based the UAE.

Job Purpose:

Ensuring that all infrastructure development projects at the site meet the designs that enable the development to deliver its value proposition to its tenants at the expected quality

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise the activities of infrastructure designs and ensure that all infrastructure designs are coordinated and meet the value proposition of the development

* Coordinate with energy management and sustainability to ensure that utility designs are aligned with the sustainability vision of the development

* Review the provisioned designs of utilities (water & wastewater, power supply & distribution, transportation, waste as well as ICT infrastructure) to ensure that they are aligned with the vision of the development

* Provide technical advice and design review for ongoing projects based on input from each of the design managers in order to ensure that all individual utilities infrastructure interfaces with buildings will function as designed

* Liaise with the projects department on identifying potential construction, schedule and budget issues and collaborate with the Projects Department Manager to develop methods to mitigate issues affecting successful completion of infrastructure projects

* Address requests from the projects department concerning the selection of suppliers and contractors to ensure that selected contractors meet the required design and quality standards

* Establish an ongoing liaison with relevant project managers ensuring all parties are kept informed of all relevant matters in relation to projects.

* Represent the client’s best interest in client and contractor meetings during design, construction and handover and advice on technical issues

* Assume role of interface between utility strategy and project managers to facilitate communication and coordination of interests, ensuring all elements of the development’s value proposition are being met

Job Requirements:

* Education

– Degree in Engineering, preferably in infrastructure design and/or construction and management

* Experience

– 15+ years in a managerial position of designing and supervising large urban mixed use developments

– Demonstrated track record in high-tech parks, green developments and similar technology intensive developments is preferred

* Competencies

– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

– Excellent leadership skills and ability to delegate and coordinate responsibilities

– Strong team player with ability to balance conflicting priorities

– Ability to prioritize actions

– Commercially aware and able to act in clients best interests

– Able to work extended hours to fulfill the role

– Professional manner but able to take firm and timely decisions
