Qualifications Sought:Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with relevant discipline chartership status.
Experience Sought:Experienced at coordinating and running Structures design engineering projects within a Highways context. International Design Engineering experience is also desirable.
JOB PROFILE
Our client is involved a range of high profile and challenging projects within the United Arab Emirates. Current regional projects range from the vast residential and leisure complex at Dubai Marina to jet fuel storage facilities at Sharjah International Airport in addition to the 350km Mafrag upgrade project, Immersed Tunnel and Desert Island, Infrastructure Master Planning design.
As the company expands and develops its regional presence, we are seeking an experienced Structural Team Leader to become part of and become integral to these exciting and developing opportunities. This is a long-term career appointment with the opportunity to advance to more senior positions within the group.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role is a key managerial position within the Transportation Unit, Highways engineering capability in the UAE. The role will be responsible for supporting regional directors in enhancing operational capability and client delivery within the Structural Highways design Engineering discipline.
The role will involve but not limited to:
•Leading and managing Structural and Highways design engineering projects.
•Developing, growing and managing a functional Structural Engineering team.
•Support senior colleagues in the development of the Highways design engineering capability.
•Supporting the career and skill set development of junior engineers in line with business needs.
•Supporting and also leading on business development for regional Structural design engineering opportunities.
•Compiling and presenting bid proposals with regional directors
•Supporting the regional presence of the client and its Structural and Highways Engineering capability.
•Ensure that the Structural and Highways Engineering function is aligned with the client's regional commercial objectives.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
The candidate will be experienced in leading Structural Highways Design Engineering likely to have been gained over a career of 8-10+ years. They will be experienced in team management, leadership, development and its growth.
The successful applicant will have the following characteristics:
•Experience in leading Structural and Highways engineering projects through their entire project lifecycle.
•Will have supported successful Business Development including involvement in building and establishing client relationships, new business acquisition and full project development.
•Experience of compiling and presenting successful bid proposals
•The candidate should be experienced from a consultancy background with overseas engineering experience important for any candidate to have experienced.
•The candidate should have an engineering related degree with chartership status.
•Demonstrable commitment to delivery, fulfilling internal and external obligations and responsibilities.
