We are looking for a Quality & Technology Development Manager with metallurgical experience and, preferably a BSc in Metallurgical Engineer or BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent to work in Yemen (after 3 months training in Belgium) for a British company that are constructing a plant in Yemen that will produce high grade zinc oxide from mined zinc oxide ore
Candidates for the position of Quality & Technology Development Manager will need to have Quality Management System knowledge and be able to follow technological developments in hydrometallurgy
The ability to write and speak English and Arabic is a plus as is hydrometallurgy and mining knowledge
The role of Quality and Technology Development Manager will be to manage the quality systems related to product standards and the quality policy, implement technology developments and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the quality management system as well as identifying probable and existing production problems.
Reporting to the Process Operations Manager the day to day responsibilities will include;- * Developing and implementing quality management strategy and plans * Developing and maintaining systems to establish standards * Developing and maintaining systems to measure performance * Monitoring performance * Monitoring standards created by external bodies and integrating within internal quality management systems * Establishing and implementing communication strategy * Planning and managing departmental activities * Liaising and cooperating with quality management and standards bodies * Managing departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets * Liaising with customers and suppliers * Contributing to executive policy and strategy * Working with the Operations Manager to optimize process * Managing analytical laboratory activities and quality controllers * Developing a project management system * Defining the weak points of the process * Improving and developing new technology * Managing all technology activities * Performing complex processing experiments * Presenting at company management and management review meetings.
The role will be worked on a 9 weeks on and 3 weeks off rotation. Accommodation will be provided for working weeks and flights back to the UK (or homeland) when not on duty
