Membership of Institution: CIBSE / EI / RICS (affiliate) Background / Training CIBSE low carbon consultant (building management or design) (preferred): Worked for Consultancy, Central or Local Government, or technical Services Dept Understanding of building regs (Part L) Involved with design or refurbishment of commercial buildings Energy / Environmental background IT Knowledge (desirable): MS Word & Excel (Intermediate/Advanced)• MS Project AutoCAD Use of NCM model: iSBEM / Hevacomp /Carbon Checker
Attributes: Familiar with building services plant equipment and / or building fabric (typically office or retail). Experienced in undertaking site surveys and recommending cost effective and pragmatic improvement measures. Able to work unsupervised out of the office at external properties across London and the Home Counties. Clear verbal and written communications skills.
Key Tasks: 1. Undertake site surveys of commercial properties for the purpose of producing an EPC (nondwellings) 2.Enter data from site survey onto modeling proforma 3.Liaison with modeling team to ensure accurate understanding of site survey results 4.Input into development and enhancement of data capture processes to be used for EPC work 5. Simple modeling of buildings following training 6.Undertake energy audits of commercial properties leading to recommendations and further work 7. Produce reports detailing findings and recommendations 8.Take responsibility for ensuring all works under jurisdiction are of suitable quality, carried out on time and within project budgets
Experience in: Undertaking energy audits Commercial building surveys encompassing fabric and /or building services Project management Report Writing Typical Projects: Energy Audits and Energy Performance Certification for groups of commercial properties, UK wide (typically large office blocks). Carbon footprinting, smart metering and tenant billing exercises
