As the UK’s leading bakery retailer, our client specialises in sandwiches, savouries and other baker-fresh food on the go. From humble beginnings as a single bakers shop, they now have over 1,100 shops throughout the UK, and serve over 5 million customers each week. Their South East division is now seeking a Technical Manager.

Based in their Twickenham Bakery, in this position you will be responsible for managing all food safety and quality systems in their shops stretching from Twickenham, Central London, Berkshire, Hampshire, and down to the South Coast. Significant travel to these areas will be involved.
As the Technical Manager your duties will include:
- recruiting, managing, leading and developing a small team
- implementing, maintaining and auditing quality systems and food safety hygiene systems
- reviewing, updating and maintaining HACCP systems and procedures
- monitoring and auditing micro standards
- auditing and co-ordinating with the Pest Control contractor
To succeed in this position you must have solid experience working within food production/manufacturing or retail, with exposure to safety/standards control. Ideally you will also have a degree (or equivalent) in Food Science/Food Technology or a related scientific discipline.
With your successful track record of managing a team, you should have the ability to communicate influentially at all levels. You will also need experience of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and possess Basic Food Hygiene.
As the Technical Manager you will also need great attention to detail, a methodical approach and good PC skills. You must also have a full driving licence.
