Certification Engineer - experienced certification or materials engineer with a package engineering background - general experience with manufacturing, welding, NDT etc - Oil and Gas company - based Sunbury-on-Thames - salary c£40K - would also accept contractor

We are looking for an experienced certification engineer or materials engineer with a package engineering background and an ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent or higher) to work for an Oil and Gas company and provide their QA and projects team with assistance

The Certification Engineer/Materials Engineer will need to have had general experience with manufacturing, welding, NDT and certification for EC directives e.g. PED, ATEX as well as experience of pressure vessel and structural steel fabrication

You should be comfortable working with client specifications and traceability requirements and have a working knowledge of HSE practices (training would be available).

All candidates for the position of Certification Engineer/Materials Engineer should be capable of face- to-face dealings with suppliers and customer representatives on a technical level and have a practical approach to achieving project objectives

The role may involve short term travel to UK and overseas locations and the Certification Engineer/Materials Engineer will be expected to build a positive working relationship with the Oil and Gas company's manufacturers and suppliers.

The main focus of the position of Certification Engineer/Materials Engineer will be to provide the QA and projects team for assistance in order to reduce existing project manager workload and enhance the level of documentation and service to customers during close-out, final documentation phase.

Day to day duties will include:

* Working with project and quality manager to set project priorities.
* Working with project document controllers to ensure documentation flow.
* Developing project format MRB's and feasibility of standardised documentation packs
* Assisting with materials inspection.
* Liaising with suppliers to ensure compliance and documentation build up.
* Developing an interface role with Notified bodies
* Developing the company's EC Declaration of Conformity for review.
* Reviewing MRB data to ensure traceability
* Managing / compiling project MRB's.
* Coordinating IOM completion activities
* Carrying out certification related visits at fabricator sites
* Managing archiving service to proposals, operations and aftermarket functions.
