Mechanical Engineer Surveyor (Lift) needed for London (NW) / Luton

Your Role
The Engineering Inspection Division (EID) ensures site equipment is safe by delivering a highly professional and independent inspection solution. Mechanical Engineer Surveyors specialising in the Crane discipline covers the thorough examination, or inspection, of various types of lifts, lifting machinery, cranes and materials handling equipment to ensure that they comply with current Regulatory and Statutory requirements.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Formulate, produce and distribute inspection reports in a professional manner within service standards Whilst acting as a fully integrated member of a national and regional team, retain independent and individual responsibility for all allocated inspection and technical activities Plan and arrange all work related activities in an effective, timely and efficient manner Provide, build and maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that all customer service standards are met Maintain an awareness of developments in standards and legislation affecting the appropriate discipline, and support change as required Act on behalf of the company, making full use of technical expertise, when required Provide training for other Engineer Surveyors as required Contribute to the development of innovative solutions, thus differentiating the company in the market place Identify any possible business opportunities and advise all appropriate business areas.
REQUIRED SKILLS
The ideal candidate will hopefully hold an HNC level qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline or alternatively a mechanical ONC together with relevant practical experience and knowledge of the mechanical lift and crane discipline.
Specifically they should be able to demonstrate awareness of Stress & Strain, Manufacturing Processes, Mechanisms, Input & Output Principles, Materials Sciences and relevant Legislation. Ideally they should have experience of manufacture, overhaul, maintenance or repair of lifts, lifting machinery, cranes or materials handling equipment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both orally and literately together with the ability to work both as part of a team and individually. You will be computer literate and be prepared to produce reports.

Salary £28000 - £31000 Company car or car user allowance 25 days holiday, plus public holidays Up to two professional subscriptions paid. Eligible to join the company’s contributory pension scheme (8% company / 4% employee) on satisfactory completion of probationary period.
