Facilities Manager - London Heathrow & UK to £40k + benefits
Our client is renowned as a market leading expert in the management of the complete in-flight service supply chain for more than 270 airlines worldwide and operates some 190 customer service centres in 47 countries, producing in excess of 380 million airline meals a year. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly self motivated Facilities Manager to be based at the London Heathrow site, with scope for the role to become UK wide with additional responsibility for the Manchester, Gatwick, Cardiff, Birmingham and Stansted locations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities & equipment are maintained and kept functional at all times, and will manage all external maintenance & service contracts ensuring that all aspects are maintained to the highest standards. Additionally, you will manage the facilities & building maintenance groups and the associated tender process to ensure consistent quality, and will also be responsible for managing legislative compliance and quality issues that are a requirement within the facilities function, Creating and managing maintenance procedures when necessary.
To be considered for this exciting and genuinely challenging opportunity, you must be a qualified member of the BIFM with at least 5 years demonstrable experience gained within a similar environment.
You will be tasked with investigating mechanical, hard & soft service breakdowns or failures & ensuring that corrective action is both precise & on time, working out and offering contingencies where breakdowns occur, and meeting with contractors in order to solve problems and devise the best solutions in line with the company needs. Additionally you will be responsible for the prompt resolution of any staffing issues and problems and ensuring that running costs remain within a £600k budget range and that savings are made whenever possible with utilities & contracts.
The specialist division has been structured to meet the requirements of the operation, meaning that it has to meet the standards required to keep all building and associated materials handling equipment in good working order, and the role will involve overseeing and managing all process and plant improvements and ensuring compliance with statutory legal H&S requirements.
