A Essex based M&E Contracting Company is looking for a Small Works Project Engineer to join on a freelance basis to work on multiple projects within Local Authorities, Hospitals, Housing Associations, Schools etc ranging between £20 - £500k.
Duties include dealing with very small tenders and subsequent awarded contracts from enquiry through to final account and will include:
a.. Receiving the enquiry from our estimators to carry out site surveys etc and transporting the information back for them to price.
b.. Alternatively to price the entire document for very small tenders.
c.. Accept prepared files from our estimating department to raise purchase orders for materials and sub contractors from our own list of suppliers or others.
d.. Reading through plant offers to confirm quality and duties meet with the specification
e.. Detailing variations and pricing.
f.. Preparing Method and Risk Assessment Statements (we can provide assistance)
g.. Managing labour with the supervisor to meet programmes including hire & fire as applicable.
h.. Making regular site visits (at least once a week) to monitor progress, quality, organising and monitoring testing etc.
i.. Dealing with correspondence and valuations.
j.. Attending site meetings with Clients, Architects, consultants etc.
k.. Providing O&M and Record Drawing information
l.. Making sure the project meets budget and programme with the highest of quality levels.
m.. Coordination with the supervisor.
2 references with be required prior to interview and experience in a similar role is essential.
