Installation / Project Engineer (HV) - good understanding of HV cable systems and construction/civil engineering matters - experience within a construction and/or electricity industry type environment - based Poyle, London - salary to £40K and London Weighting, allowances, BUPA and Company car We are looking for an Installation / Project Engineer (HV) with an HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline and several years experience within a construction and/or electricity industry type environment and a good understanding of HV cable systems and construction/civil engineering matters.
The HV Installation/Project Engineer should have proven supervisory skills, the ability to work unsupervised and to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
A good level of computer literacy is required.
Based in the London office at Poyle and reporting to the Services Business Unit Manager the Installation / Project Engineer will be responsible for site activities on faults and maintenance projects within the Services Business Unit based throughout the UK.
From time to time it may be necessary to also manage installation activities on new projects
Day to day duties of the HV Installation/Project Engineer will include:
* Liaising and attending technical and commercial meetings * Ensuring that all projects are commercially successful * Supervising specialist subcontractors in site activities and controlling their programmes, payments and claims. * Supervising installation teams including engineers, foremen, cable jointers and oil mechanics * Carrying out site audit checks * Maintaining accurate records of all resources used at site * Creating work programmes and attending progress meetings with Clients and Subcontractors. * Assisting in producing site installation information to be included in tenders * Inclusion on a standby rota to cover emergency fault requests
This position would suit an engineer with a good solid HV background who wishes to use his or her technical and project management skills in a new career and has the ability to be flexible to travel within the UK for extended periods of time.
