Our client is a specialist packaging and coding & marking distributor, supplying products from leading overseas manufacturers into the UK market, most often on an exclusive basis. They are seeeking to deliver high levels of growth throughout the business over the next 3-5years. They are seeking an Area Sales Manager for their packaging and marking and labelling products and systems to various markets in Midlands area.
The Area Sales Manager for will assume full responsibility for sales of Industrial capital equipment. The Area Sales Manager will be expected to deliver agreed sales targets through new account acquisition, development of existing accounts and promotion of the ranges into new market sectors. The role will involve selling to a wide range of companies involved in markets which include Food, Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics & Beauty and Electronics.
The role will be predominantly field-based but may involve some working from home. It will involve the need to respond to leads generated from Head Office as well as self-generating leads gathered from the trade press and market sector databases. Key Objectives will be to deliver the sales turnover and margin targets for the Division, within the market sectors as agreed on an annual basis with the Board of Directors and to ensure key accounts are developed as agreed. You will also monitor and feed back information on competitor activity and ensure that customer service levels offered to key customers are the highest of any of their suppliers in the areas of product and servicing quality; reliability; responsiveness to, and understanding of, their needs; and professionalism.
Candidates should have a proven track record of field sales and at least 5 years experience of selling packaging, marking, labelling, coding or strapping systems within the UK packaging industry.
Basic salary plus excellent commission scheme.
