Senior Unigraphics Design Engineer to £40k Derby
Our client employs more than 9000 people worldwide, are represented in more than 15 countries and have an annual turnover in excess of £400m, and works on a consultancy basis to various market sectors that include Aerospace, Automotive and Nuclear sectors for both Defence and Energy applications.
As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self motivated and highly proficient Unigraphics Design professional to compliment their existing instrumentation team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of the production of design schemes to define an instrumentation solution to a specified experimental requirement, and that will interface with customer processes to refine and issue solutions. This will predominantly involve design engineers placing Brackets and Bracketry around a Gas Turbine Test Rig taking the instrumentation around the Gas Turbine and would be undertaken whilst the engine is still under the design phase.
To be considered for this technically challenging and diverse opportunity, you will demonstrate the ability to comply with a complex and demanding customer interface in a professional and positive manner, and the ability to quickly absorb training in various software tools and design techniques – and will thrive in an environment committed to ensuring customer satisfaction and successful project delivery. You will be responsible for fully understanding the customer requirement, liaising internally with in house specialists and creating the design scheme to define the instrumentation solution, before following the project through to presentation to the customer, and supervising the activities of fellow design personnel to ensure on-time project delivery.
You will have experience of Unigraphics NX2 and an awareness of aero-engines and instrumentation techniques would be distinctly advantageous. Strong communication skills are a prerequisite, and whilst a degree or relevant qualification would again be advantageous, demonstrable skills and experience are more important.
