Project Estimator – to £36k – Northamptonshire
Our client is renowned as a global market leader in the supply of bespoke materials handling solutions for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, the company are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and self motivated Project Estimator to compliment their existing team.
Working from pre-sales concept layouts the Project Estimator will assist with internal and external product and supplier selection and compile all elements into a project cost model applying agreed margins.
The successful candidate will produce detailed cost calculations at Order of Cost, Budget and Fixed Price levels, covering a range of special purpose machinery and equipment including Automatic Storage and Retrieval Machines, Power distribution systems, Racking systems, Sprinkler systems, Conveyor controls (electrical / PLC), SCADA / HMI systems, Palletiser and robotic equipment, Specialist material handling equipment and ASRS aisle equipment, and will maintain and use company standard costing templates to generate project costing sheets.
Supporting the Bid Manager in the preparation and presentation of the offer document, you will additionally apply project margins as instructed by the Bid Manager and currency exchange rates as instructed by Finance Manager. Working with the Planning team, you will establish realistic project plans, identifying key milestones and cash flow calculations and including risk and contingency elements as identified by the Bid Manager.
With projects varying in value from £5m to £25m and leadtimes of up to 2 years, you will obtain feedback on completed projects in terms of technical viability and overall costs in order to maintain accurate cost calculations and maintain a library of pre-costings and after-costings for use in Order of Cost and Budget level quotations.
To be considered for this key position, you will demonstrate the ability to read engineering technical drawings and possess a relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering with at least 5 years experience in a projecting and material handling business.
