Design Engineers (Assistant Engineer, Engineer or Senior Engineer) needed for steam turbine design department

Our Client is a global leader in the world of power generation and sets the benchmark for innovative and environmentally friendly technologies.
The company designs, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art products and systems to the power generation - for gas, coal, and hydro power plants - and industrial markets

Your Role is:

You will perform either layout design or design analysis on steam turbine retrofit components. This would involve the definition of component specifications and materials, stress analysis of steam turbine components using in-house computer programs, spreadsheets and hand calculations, or layout design using CATIA.
Design for manufacture and installation is a critical aspect. R&D projects involving the design of new components or failure investigations could also be part of the work
Main Tasks Include:

  • Attending customer meetings; liaison with factories at any location regarding manufacturing requirements and non conformances; with site representatives (either within the office or at site itself) for liaison during installation

  • Candidates with varying degrees of experience will be considered, and the position offered will depend on this. Relevant experience would be in layout design or design analysis of turbomachinery components; knowledge of manufacturing processes for these would be useful

  • The applicant needs to be a good communicator with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined design team; report writing ability would be useful. Technical competence is essential

    Salary Details
    £23000 - £34000 depending on experience and ability


    Hours of Work
    37 hours per week.(flexi-time)

    Holiday Entitlement
    25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays – agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
