Your Role is:
The Retrofit Installation Management group aims to provide the methodologies, expertise and resources to enable Steam Turbines retorfit (STR)to become a world leader in installation management of Steam Turbines retorfits and industrial new equipment applications.
The Planning Engineering position is responsible for providing planning support and expertise in support of the tendering for or execution of the site installation part of a retrofit project.
Educational Requirements Hopefully be Degree qualified (Mechanical Engineering, alternative Electrical Eng.) or equivalent relevant experience. Recognised staff management training or Project Management training is an advantage, e.g. CNSG Safety passport course, ECITB courses for site supervisors, etc. Previous training as mechanical fitter or supervisor in heavy rotating equipment maintenance is an advantage. Some knowledge of planning software (P3, Suretrak, MS-Project and ideally P3(e))
Main Tasks Include:
Opportunity / Tender development phase:
Obtain, integrate and evaluate approved sub-supplier quotations in support of tenders (technical, costing, scheduling and risk management) Provide specialist planning support for T&C opportunities including schedule planning for complex integrated projects involving partnering scope of supply
Project Execution – Pre-outage Phase: Manage installation related documentation exchanges and requirements for specific projects TSR Site planner during project site execution pre-planning
Project Execution phase Reporting to Retrofit Outage Coordinator or Lead Technical Field Advisor for project specific contracts Provide Installation outage support managing administration, reporting, documentation and various interfacing tasks Maintenance of master schedule, provide look ahead planning and support of Installation management, schedule options simulation and risk management. Installation Management Resources: Manage, develop and document best practice in outage schedule planning Installation Management Development Activities: Participate with planning related support in IM product and process development projects - e.g. support of 'Design for Installation' initiatives to achieve and document Retrofit Installation best practice Support Experience feedback initiatives related to planning; input, evaluation and leading improvement actions

Hours of Work 37 hours per week.(flexi-time)
Holiday Entitlement 25 days per year basic entitlement. Floating bank holidays – agreed annually. Holiday pro-rata during 1st year of employment.
