Mechanical Engineer - Graduate or similar to be trained as Stress Engineer - FEA - ANSYS - Turbomachinery - background in castings and/or rotating machinery - based Lincoln - salary £22 - 27K plus package

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering graduate (or someone with equivalent experience) to train as a Stress Engineer. The trainee Stress Engineer/Mechanical Engineer should have some FEA experience/knowledge preferably with ANSYS and a basic background in solids (e.g. castings) or rotating components

The trainee Stress Engineer should have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant subject (or equivalent) and experience in using FEA in analysis as well as knowledge of the principles of vibration, creep and fatigue and an understanding of relevant material properties.

The role of Stress engineer/Mechanical Engineer will involve working on both static and rotating components and experience/knowledge of higher temperature applications as well as FEA experience/knowledge would be desirable. ANSYS would be a plus.

Experience/knowledge of analysis of turbo-machinery, particularly gas turbines or turbochargers and experience of presenting results at various levels would be preferable. As would the ability to use PATRAN, ABAQUS and solid modeller

The ability to maintain records and good communication skills are essential.

Working with the Specialist Analytical Engineer, the role will involve taking responsibility for the mechanical analysis and lifting of stationary and rotating turbocharger components. You would also occasionally be involved in failure investigations.

If you want to work on stress analysis in the turbo-machinery business you should be interested in this varied role working for a company that designs, manufactures, installs and provides life-time support for world-class gas turbines for Industrial Power Generation and the Oil and Gas Industry.

All candidates should be suitably qualified or have equivalent experience as well as possessing good general engineering comprehension combined with customer relationship and project management skills.

Turbomachinery experience would be a definite plus

Candidates should have good interpersonal skills and the ability to apply logical processes to activities as well as to construct clear engineering reports and ability to coordinate
