Commissioning Engineer based in Chesterfield

Our Client is one of the world leaders in the supply of Fans, Compressors, Rotary Heat Exchangers and Gas Cleaning Equipment.

They supply various sectors from power to mining and cement generation, all of which demand the highest levels of performance and reliability from their rotating machinery.

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer where having the following skills/experiences will be an advantage:

  • Installation, levelling and alignment of drive trains

  • Function testing of ancillary equipment – pumps, motors, actuators etc

  • Systematic fault finding, diagnosis and rectification on mechanical, electrical and instrumentation component and systems

  • Measurement and recording of dimensions and clearances

  • Assembly of rotating equipment and associated ancillaries to technical drawings and specifications


  • Your role

  • Assembly of rotating equipment and associated ancillaries to technical drawings and specifications.



  • Your past experience should consist of

  • Installation and erection of capital plant.

  • Commissioning of rotating equipment

  • Systematic fault diagnosis procedures.

  • Electrical control systems and instrumentation

  • Hands-on knowledge of PLC systems and programming of ladder logic

  • Hazardous area requirements

  • Health & Safety law

  • Preferably have previously worked in a service environment.


  • Educational requirement:

  • Hopefully applicants would be apprentice trained Mechanical Engineer/HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)

  • For this role you are required to:

  • travel throughout the world

  • Report writing and ability to accurately convey technical data/information

  • Work within a 24-hour call out rota system
  • .


    Salary negotiable depending on applicant (cannot advertise due to client request)
