JOB TITLE: Mechanical Contracts Engineer
SALARY: £35,000
LOCATION: Nottingham
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
To execute the contracts assigned in accordance with the agreed specification and requirements in the most cost-effective manner whilst complying with all current legislation/engineering standards and the company procedures.
CORE RESPONSIBLITIES
1. Ensure all works on a given contract are carried out in accordance with the agreed specification/drawings and to all correct appropriate engineering standards and good working practices.
2. Undertake the cost-effective procurement of both materials and subcontractors in accordance with all relevant Company procedures.
3. Deal with day to day queries, costings and quotations to comply with department requirements.
4. Ensure all design work is commercially viable both in terms of the proposed solution and the cost/timescale to produce the design when compared to the estimate.
5. Ensure there is cost effective allocation / resourcing of labour requirements to suit the requirements of the contract programme and the tender costs.
6. Prepare Valuations/final accounts and issue in accordance with the contract/timely manner and ensure payments are duly received inline with the contact.
7. Certify Subcontract payments as and when required, having ascertained claims are valid.
8. Ensure full compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and all current legislation.
9. Ensure that the quality of the work satisfies current good engineering practice
10. Ensure customer satisfaction.
11. Promote the company in a manner which is likely to maximise possible future work opportunities.
12. Comply with the Company Procedures
13. Protect the Company’s interests at all times.
14. Be available to deal with queries outside of normal working hours.
15. Carry out any ad hoc duties within responsibility
