Maintenance Engineer – Northampton £27k+ o/t + benefits
Our client is recognized globally as a market leader in the provision of highest quality and efficient Materials Handling and sortation solutions for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of a recent positive restructuring exercise and an ongoing planned programme of continuous strategic growth, an urgent need has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and highly capable Site Maintenance Engineer to compliment their existing team of engineering professionals.
Working closely as part of a team tasked with ensuring that all items of equipment are maintained to the highest levels, the successful candidate will ensure that the system delivers the required demands in terms of availability and uptime, with Health and Safety, QA, customer interface and systems support issues all forming part of the role.
You will primarily be responsible for working on a shift cover basis as part of the site team and providing telephone support when required, and will implement and control routine maintenance on the site equipment that our client are responsible for. You will efficiently monitor and ensure that spare parts provisions are maintained to the required levels and ensure excellent communications are established and maintained with key client operational staff and all members of the maintenance team, compiling KPI figures for availability and uptimes ensuring required performance is achieved and ensuring that Health and Safety monitoring, production and implementation of Safe Working Procedures are fully complied with. Additionally you will add value to the overall business by promoting systems enhancements and also planning/implementation of the same.
Working on a two shift system (earlies / lates) you will be responsible for the maintenance of 4 Maestro’s, 14 Bison’s & 2 Order Pickers as well as a range of special purpose automated equipment at one of the busiest distribution centres in the region. A full driving licence and solid engineering background are therefore essential requirements in being considered for this role, with relevant qualifications and knowledge of the warehousing and distribution sector proving advantageous although not essential.
