My client enjoys a reputation as one of the country’s leading environmental consultancies of with 360 diverse specialist staff located in two main offices, London and Leeds, and a number of Regional Offices.

The client are unique among Consultants in conducting much of their own geotechnical/environmental investigations. This work is carried out by our Ground Engineering Services Division.
Whilst historically much ground investigation is in support of internal environmental consultancy assessments it is now equally delivered as a service to external clients for geotechnical design and earthworks assessment. GES now operate within a variety of Frameworks including EP, BWB, Metronet amongst others. Geotechnical interpretation is routinely conducted but geotechnical consulting now has a major place within the workload and relates to separate consultancy activities on rail, site development and waste projects.
A Geotechnical Engineer is required to join the Geotechnical Design team, which forms an integral part of the Ground Engineering Services division. The successful individual will form part of a busy team in a vibrant office with plenty of scope to develop their career.
Qualifications:
Graduate engineers qualified to BSc (Hons) in Geology, Engineering Geology, B Eng Civil Engineering or relevant environmental discipline are required; Preferably an MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering; Full clean driving license; PTS, LUL accreditation advantageous but not essential.

Out going, self motivated, ambitious team player with the ability to work on their own. Reliable & responsible.
Experience
Experience of Site Investigation/Geotechnical Design and ideally be working towards Chartered status and experienced in the following areas: Desk studies; Logging soils and rocks to BS5930; Lab test scheduling; SI design and management in the UK; Contaminated Land/Brownfield investigations; Interpretative reporting; Financial control of projects; Slope Stability and Retaining Wall Analysis; Earthworks Appraisal; Use of knowledge of FE Packages, SlopeW, WALLOP, Reward etc.
