DESIGN CO-ORDINATOR Rugby, Warwickshire Upto £40,000
Key purpose: To undertake the design co-ordination of all temporary works required on projects, from the initial feasibility assessment to detail design, installation & final removal, including where appropriate preparation of in-house temporary works design.
Specific Responsibilities: " To assess & identify temporary works requirements on each project. Temporary works involved in Electricity Alliance projects include, inter alia,
Excavation support for tower foundations or cable trenches Formwork & setting templates for reinforced concrete foundations Piling & Cranage platforms Access roads & traffic management Protective scaffolds for roads, railways & third party property Catenary Support System (in-house system used in place of scaffold) Backstays & temporay steelwork for tower support Temporary overhead line diversions " To identify competent designers & contractors for installation of each type of temporary works, and to co-ordinate & supervise their work " To assist with the production of in-house temporary works design
Background and Experience: Qualifications " Degree level education or the equivalent with formal training in civil, structural &/or geotechnical engineering General Experience " 5 years post-graduate experience in the civil or structural engineering industry " Experience of the supervision of sub-consultants or subcontractors " Proven experience of the design of civil or structural engineering works
Specific experience required for this role " A minimum of 2 years experience in the design & supervision of temporary works for civil engineering projects
