Our client, a prestigious manufacturer of ground to air communication equipment, currently has a permanent vacancy for a VHF/UHF radio installation engineer.
The role invloves:
· To work within the Installation, Training and Support Services Team and will be required to install UHF/VHF communication equipment and systems world-wide, train the customer on its products and repair equipment returned by the customer.
The Key Responsibilities of the role:
· Provide and organise an Installation and Commissioning service, at locations and for such durations as required by the Company
· Carry out technical training courses as required, including on-the-job training
· Conduct site surveys
· Maintain and repair communications equipment, both in-house and in the field.
· Provide a telephone and fax service to respond to Customer queries and requests for information and assistance.
· Provide written and oral technical assistance to our client’s Customers on equipment operation, repair status, and spares availability.
· Provide Field Service functions at exhibitions, displays etc both in the UK and overseas as required, for example - erecting stands, ensuring goods are serviceable and set up.
· Provide assistance to the generation of proposals (costing and analysis)
Person Specification:
· HNC in Electronics
· Extensive theoretical and practical experience of installation and commissioning practices
of VHF/UHF communication equipment, ideally ground to air radios
· Proven experience of maintenance and repair of VHF/UHF radio equipment
· Training skills
· Good communicator
· Outgoing personality
· Flexibility to travel extensively for periods lasting up to 6 months if required
