What is the Role?
As a signalling engineer/ train control, your principal function is to provide technical support and expertise in the area of train control and signalling for Metro and Light Rail proposals and projects as required in the UK or world wide.
The priorities of this role include: · Developing configuration of train control and signalling systems for metro and light rail feasibility studies
· Prepare train control and signalling systems technical proposals for bids
· Undertake train control and signalling systems conceptual design for projects
· Be capable of liaising, coordinating and reviewing train control and signalling systems contractors designs
Who are the likely candidates?
· The ideal candidate should possess HNC/BTech in electrical engineering or equivalent,
· MIRSE (or en route to membership) and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
What Skills do I need?
· Have a wide knowledge of train control, signalling systems environment and experience of communication systems in a rail or transit field
· Understand train control principles for metro manual and automatic train control
· Understand the importance of system integration
· Have good composition skills
· Be able to mobilise on to international projects as required
· Be a good team player in a multi-discipline team with good interpersonal skills
· Be able to operate with minimum technical supervision
