Our client is currently looking to recruit a Pavement Engineer to manage a team delivering civil engineering projects which contain a substantial pavement engineering skill. A typical pavement engineering project will have a contract value of between £10M to £20M or to alternatively manage the delivery of the pavement work associated with a much larger project where the pavement work is integrated into a major project.
Role: o To be the technical leader, leading, planning, checking and delivering the work associated with a specific project. o To take the main client contact role on a specific project. To ensure the fee invoicing is completed in an efficient and accurate manner. To ensure the project resource schedules and therefore available staff match the project programme and scope of the work. o To act as a mentor to unqualified staff assisting in training, acting as a delegated engineer and answering technical questions on associated with pavement engineering. o To complete employer's agent roles or third party reviews on major highway projects. o To complete technical audits and reviews of other schemes completed within the Midlands office.
Requirements: o Must have a MEng, MSc or possibly Phd qualification from a UK institution . MICE, or MIHT o Must have strong project management skills to take day to day control of the delivery of a number of major commissions. o Must have some contracting experience and strong project management knowledge. o To have a working knowledge and practical experience, of highway maintenance and asset management. o To have a working knowledge of PMS systems either UK PMS or HA PMS. To have a working knowledge of asset management surveys and registers associated with highway maintenance. o To assist in the development of a Highway asset management business.
