What is the Role?
An opportunity has arisen within a large Highways and Transport office for an Assistant Highways Design Engineer.
Reporting directly to the Highways Engineer you will provide technical support within a team of Engineers and Technicians in delivering quality highway design solutions. You are expected to assist and guide junior members of the team and support and assist senior members as required.
You will be responsible for the technical delivery of the projects allocated and for assisting with the management of the programmes and budgets.

Who are the likely candidates?
The likely candidate will be actively working towards the professional review of ICE or equivalent in the near future to become Chartered / Incorporated Engineer.
They will have a relevant qualification in Civil Engineering i.e. HNC or degree. As well as being able to show the skills set listed below.
What Skills do I need?
· Highway design experience, including drainage design
· Highways Agency procedure and / or standards particularly DMRB and MCDHW
· Health and Safety legislation, particularly the CDM regulations
· Computer literate (e.g. Excel, Word, MS Project)
· MX, Micro Drainage and AutoCAD
· Autosign would be beneficial
· UK / EEC driving licence desirable
