The group's principal activities are the manufacture of autocatalysts, heavy duty diesel catalysts and pollution control systems, catalysts and components for fuel cells, catalysts and technologies for chemical processes, fine chemicals, chemical catalysts and active pharmaceutical ingredients and the marketing, refining, and fabrication of precious metals.

YOUR ROLE
To carry out continuous improvement projects with the aim of reducing cost, increasing productivity and efficiency and reducing waste.
Implementing continuous improvement projects. Determination of problem root causes Suggesting and agreeing corrective actions Implementing agreed actions Monitoring effectiveness of actions Reporting progress and results of projects
Data entry and data analysis to highlight and assess improvements made and areas needing focus
Shop floor investigations and observations of tasks and working areas to provide project teams with facts to work from. This will involve interaction with various departments, mainly shop floor production, quality and washcoat areas.
Collating and formally broadcasting notices to the plant as required.
Active involvement in discussions and ideas sessions with the continuous improvement teams.
To help achieve improvements aimed at increased efficiency, reduced rejects and reduced working capital
To help the continuous improvement team achieve the support for the projects and its ideas, from the whole of the operation. This will happen through good, clear and quick communication.
H&S RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the plant operation as required to ensure compliance with the permit conditions.
Undertake/Assist as appropriate in incident investigation to identify root causes.
Ensure all projects completed follow the correct HAZOP and SHE review procedures to ensure that there is no introduction of additional hazards.
To ensure the appropriate level of review is completed for introducing new products. This will include risk assessments, COSHH assessments and assessment of material MSDS to identify waste disposal routes
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Hopefully have a degree standard education with some science basis, experience of precision coating or CSF (catalyst soot filters) process and basic understanding of chemical coating batching, PC Skills, particularly use of Excel spreadsheets, good level of numeracy, some statistical understanding would be advantageous but not essential
Salary Details £25000 - £27000 no shift work Fantastic bonus scheme and benefits too
