They have a requirement for a senior project manager to be based at their head office. You will ensure a consistent standard of project management across their operational sites such that they have a one site mentality on installations and plant utilisation.
Key tasks
Development of concept, project design, layout, costing
Liaison with planning and local authorities
Communications with experts at other sites to gather and share operational and engineering best practice
Development of plant technologies with suppliers
Liaison with procurement professionals to ensure an integrated approach to equipment purchase
Management of Personnel
Management of contractors
Co-ordination of personnel on site
Key skills
A degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering
A recognised safety qualification such as NEBOSH and a thorough knowledge of safety systems
Previous experience of Project Management of large scale capital investments in a heavy engineering environment, delivering projects to time and on budget
Previous experience of working on large scale capital investments (>£2m)
A thorough working knowledge of the law relating to project work
Ability to use PACKAGE
Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities
The role will involve working for a length of time on projects at operational sites mainly in East Anglia and at the end of the project will return to Head Office or move to another site.
