As Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for all the functional aspects of new and existing products within a section of the company's product range ensuring demanding consumer performance requirements are met or surpassed and that the range can be competitively marketed to maximum commercial advantage.
You will take ownership of component and product functional acceptability as well as joint ownership with other Development Engineers of the house keeping, maintenance and extension of the Product Range Development facilities and will be responsible for ensuring that all development activities and test equipment are operated in accordance with accepted company health and safety practice.
Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, you should have experience of design or development gained in a high volume environment. Knowledge of test instrumentation and analysis techniques would also be desirable.
You must have good written, oral communication, presentation and IT skills and should have a practical hands on approach with good interpersonal skills and an innovative and methodical way of thinking.
As Product Development Engineer you may also be responsible for supervising Placement Students as required so some management skills would be advantageous.
