Role: Mechanical Maintenance Fitter
Location: Felixstowe
Salary: £17,000 - £19,000 (Shifts) per annum + a wealth of overtime opportunities
Role Description
As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, your role will see you organising and carrying out engineering examinations and maintenance of rail freight wagons used to transport large containers to and from the port. In addition, you will be expected to undertake any mechanical repairs needed on any of the large plant that is used within the freight yard. You will be trained in all areas of your work to safety critical standard. This is the ideal role for any candidates who want to progress in a well established name within the UK rail freight industry.
Required Experience
Successful candidates will be highly motivated and able to work efficiently to deadlines. You will come from a Mechanical Engineering background, ideally from rail, the forces or plant industries. You will require some form of Mechanical Engineering qualification and be willing to learn and progress within the company.

Our client is a huge national freight company based in Poland, Germany and the UK responsible for the haulage of numerous products such as natural raw materials. With a fleet of 175 locomotives and 2,300 wagons this company is continuing to grow by buying new stock and winning new business.
Salary Information Starting salary for this role is between £17,000 & £19,000 per annum on a 3 shift system. Add to this the wide scope for overtime, candidates could expect to earn £26,000 + per year.
