Our client is part of a groundbreaking collaboration, which is dedicated to delivering continually improving, quality highways services in Cambridgeshire.

Due to recent growth, they are seeking a Project Manager to manage and lead their highway structures project delivery, with specific responsibility for:

• Managing design projects to agreed budgets, programmes and quality standards
• Managing the interface between the client and the technical teams
• Ensuring compliance with highways processes
• Managing the commercial aspects of design projects
• Co-ordinating the work of internal teams to ensure delivery
• Change Management - Manage and co-ordinate design change
• Managing multi-disciplinary teams throughout the organisation including cross business trading and use of specialist services
• Managing resources (and identifying resource needs on a project by project basis including resource levelling of programmes)
• Providing feedback to Design Manager on performance issues

Qualified to degree level or equivalent, ideally in an engineering or related discipline, you will preferably have Chartered status.

With solid experience of managing design projects ideally in a consultancy environment, you will have experience in the use of Conditions of Contract (NEC would be advantageous),
experience in a client facing role, experience of commercial management at project level, knowledge of project management methodology and have experience in the use of programme management including scheduling and critical path analysis.

A practical understanding of financial issues and mathematical data evaluation is essential as is the ability to multi-task to enable work on several individual projects simultaneously, the ability to manage and coordinate design workstreams and experience in the use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

You will be a good all-round communicator who is task focused and who has well developed interpersonal skills, the ability to lead teams, good organisational and prioritisation skills and a desire to progress your career in design and construction management.

A competitive salary will be offered, probably in the range of £30 - 37,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
