Our client is part of a groundbreaking collaboration, which is dedicated to delivering continually improving, quality highways services in Cambridgeshire.
They are seeking to recruit a Highways Engineer / Assistant Engineer to take responsibility for computer aided design of all aspects of highway design, bills of quantities and specification in compliance with current standards, legislation and QA procedures.
You will also take ownership of designs, resolving any design problems in conjunction with the Team Leader, will be expected to deliver schemes within time constraints and liaise with other designers to coordinate different elements of the scheme.
With an HNC / HND Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and preferably Incorporated Engineer status, you will have proven experience and understanding of engineering design principles with an ability to use AutoCAD.
You will also need technical capability in at least ONE of the following areas: alignment, pavements, drainage, statutory processes, contract documentation and construction principals, MX / Moss.
With a logical and concise approach, you will have the ability to work both as part of a team and under your own initiative and you will have good communication skills, both oral and written.
A competitive salary will be offered, probably in the range of £22 - 27,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
