Are you the type of person who welcomes the challenge of leading a diverse range of projects, who strives to achieve transport planning excellence?

Our client's team based in Cambridgeshire deals with all aspects of land development including transport assessments for new developments, masterplanning, urban regeneration projects, town centre and heritage area environmental enhancements and travel plans.

They require enthusiastic and experienced Planners to strengthen their team in Cambridgeshire.

Reporting to a business unit manager, you will have responsibility for a team and would be expected to carry out the following duties:

• Project and task management
• Assess and programme staffing requirements for projects
• Allocate tasks to the project team, check and monitor their progress
• Ensure that project work is carried out within agreed time scales and budget
• Provide a high level of technical leadership to project managers
• Keep up-to-date with current methods and the latest research in development planning and urban regeneration
• Monitor and control financial aspects of project
• Ensure current QSE standards are upheld at every project stage
• Represent our client at technical seminars/conferences, promoting their capability
• Liaise with clients, professional organisations, architects, planners and other partners.

You will have a degree or equivalent in transport, a numeric subject or equivalent whilst knowledge and / or experience in several of the following would be desirable:

• Professional membership of relevant institution
• Strong technical development planning background
• Project management and staff development
• Winning new work and delivering transport planning projects
• Financial management
• Client liaison experience.

You will possess good commercial awareness and solid financial management ability and be able to demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality solutions and advice to clients. Proven team management skills and the ability to communicate the critical project issues, are necessary attributes for this position as is the ability to think clearly, write high quality reports and keep factual records of projects.

Our client will offer a competitive salary, which will be dependent on the level of appointment but will probably be in the range of £35 - 60,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
