Senior Climate Change and Renewables
The climate change and renewables area is seen as a high growth area within our clients range of services. Within this role there is therefore scope to get involved in wider climate change technical and carbon management activities. Training in BREEAM and other appropriate skills will be provided where relevant. The role will involve working with a number of internal planning groups and you person will be contribute to the renewable energy team rolling out its capability both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
• TECHNICAL: Deliver carbon and energy efficiency solutions to a variety of clients. Undertake energy audits, carbon management, renewable energy feasibility assessments and project implementation. Act as project manager and provide specialist technical input across national activities in your key areas of expertise. Support the team in developing new business and writing proposals. Offer and deliver technical solutions to meet the business and client expectations. Maintain and develop expertise and continue to increase technical breadth. Will act as a technical lead on a range of projects and proposals and communicate complex issues to colleagues and clients. Responsible for the technical work of less experienced consultants.
• PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Will manage projects including costs, performance and spend against budget, quality, deadlines, delivery of reports, presentations and other deliverables. Review the progress of the project on a regular basis and take responsibility for delivery to client needs. Resolve technical and financial queries through consultation with project managers and technical managers where appropriate. Devise or select the most appropriate method of project delivery by considering implications.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: • Applicants re likely to hold a Degree in Engineering or Environmental discipline with a mechanical, electrical, buildings or energy management bias. • Ideally be a Chartered Engineer/CIBSE be and ideally be a CIBSE-registered Low Carbon Consultant. • MSc in specialist energy area is desirable however not essential.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: • Practical and M&E consulting experience gained in the built environment. • Knowledge of building energy demand/ modelling, M&E services, HVAC, lighting, Buildings controls engineering in one or more sectors and energy engineering is essential. • Activity with renewable energy systems is highly desirable. • Expertise in implementation of renewable energy projects is highly desirable aswell as commercial experience and development of business plans. This should be further complimented with strong project management skills. • Applicants will also be required to demonstrate an understanding of the planning process and barriers in renewables implementation
