Acoustic Consultant £25K - £38K Cambridge
Our client is looking to recruit an Acoustic Consultant to develop the acoustics business in the Midlands region. This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environmental team, with chances to contribute towards and coordinate a wide range of acoustics projects. Typical projects include large scale noise mapping, transportation related noise assessments, noise impact assessments for planning applications and noise assessments for EIAs. For candidates with appropriate experience, there is also the opportunity to be involved with building acoustics related projects.
Key Responsibilities
The principal functions of this position will be to win, manage and deliver acoustic projects in the Midlands, to progress and share industry best practice, support the continued professional development of the local acoustics team. You will work with product line leaders/regional coordinators and other business groups to develop business opportunities in the region.
The priorities of this role include: - Project scoping/costing and producing fee proposals of the highest possible standard; - Technically and financially managing, organising and completing acoustic projects; - Supporting the ongoing technical growth and development of the local acoustics team; - Supervision and review of work of less experienced members of the local acoustics team; - Providing active support to promote business development activities; - Communicating with Clients on a day to day basis; - Developing relationships with internal and external Clients;
Job Requirements
The successful applicant will have a degree in an appropriate discipline and preferably be a member of the Institute of Acoustics. The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge.
· Excellent knowledge of acoustic legislation, policy and standards at EU and UK levels; · Track record of delivering major noise projects within the acoustics field, particularly in relation to the impact assessment of transportation projects; · Expertise in one or more noise modelling packages, familiarity with basic GIS concepts/packages, and basic CAD skills (AutoCAD or Microstation); · Experience gained within a consultancy environment and evidence of building strong relations with clients; · Valid UK driving licence.
