Salary / Hourly Rate: £28000 - £30000 per annum + Pension scheme, flexible benefits

This company have an excellent reputation in the market and deal with projects ranging from £10,000 - £25m. They deal with a range of commercial and refurb projects, they cover a variety of disciplines and their environmental team are currently dealing with a project relating to the olympics. The company are looking for somebody that is committed to working their way up throughout the company and that is committed to work towards chartership if not already chartered.    


   
Principal Duties & Main Activities:
 
Undertaking the design, preparation of contract documentation and management of structural or civil engineering schemes from inception through to final account and gaining approvals from statutory bodies.  Principal duties include:  liaising with clients, professional advisors, contractors, insurance companies and general public;  undertaking site surveys and investigations and writing reports;  acting as job manager for QMS purposes;  preparing and checking calculations and obtaining Building Regulations approval for construction schemes;  preparing design information for draughtsmen/technicians;  visiting site for surveying, contract supervision, valuations or site safety purposes;  drafting site instructions, certificate and contract correspondence;  discussing schemes and amendments with architects and clients;  preparing Health & Safety plans and CDM documentation;  undertaking other duties consistent with the job description that may be required by job managers/directors from time to time.

Skills Required -

· Accredited degree on Joint Board of Moderators list.
· General experience in the design and management of civil engineering works
· Knowledge of UK Codes of Practice, Building Regulation and Health & Safety legislation
· Proficiency in the use of surveying and measuring instruments and in the presentation of information.
